Problems For POTUS On Economy

The latest Harris Interactive polling indicates that 2/3 of American adults give the President unfavorable marks on his handling of the economy.  Table I shows the 15-point drop that the President has suffered since March of 2009.  Other portions of the table indicate that the President is weakest among Gen Xers, but strong among the "Echo Boomers," or Millennials.  Interestingly, a majority of respondents still trust the President and his advisors to do the right thing on the economy.

Harris Interactive polling has generally produced better results than other online endeavors such as Zogby Interactive, but I'd still caution you to handle with care.  Nevertheless, these results are in line with other results that we've seen: The President's approval ratings are tepid, but underneath those approval numbers, the results are much more ominous for Democrats.
