NY Gov Poll: Cuomo Still Strong

New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo continues to run well ahead of his Republican opponents, former Rep. Rick Lazio and businessman Carl Paladino, a new Rasmussen poll finds (June 24, 500 LV, MoE +/- 4.5%). The result shows little change since April, and Cuomo is heavily favored to win the election.

President Obama gets a 61% approval rating in New York, and outgoing Gov. David Paterson has a 37% approval rating. Paladino remains unknown to a third of voters, while a fifth are unsure about Lazio. Meanwhile, Cuomo enjoys a 63% favorable rating.

RCP rates this race Safe Democrat.
