Biden's "Blumenthal Mistake"

"I have a bad habit of saying exactly what I think."
That's what Vice President Joe Biden said last night after making a Biden-esque comment about military service during an event at his home honoring wounded warriors. The butt of his joke? Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, who's only begun to dig out of the hole he dug himself in after admitting he occasionally "misspoke" about military service in Vietnam.
While praising the soldiers he was hosting last night, Biden talked about the experience of troops returning from Vietnam. That's where he stepped in it:
"I didn't serve in Vietnam. I don't want to make a Blumenthal mistake here. Our attorney general from Connecticut, God love him."
No doubt his friends in Connecticut didn't appreciate it.
