NH Poll: Republicans Surge In Senate Race

Each of the potential GOP candidates in New Hampshire post significant gains in the latest UNH/Granite State poll, with former Attorney General Kelly Ayotte (R) performing best. Rep. Paul Hodes (D), meanwhile, fails to draw support higher than 37 percent against the GOP field.

After the jump, the latest matchups in New Hampshire's two Congressional races, which also feature the GOP candidates on top.

Rep. Carol Shea Porter (D) is again vulnerable in the first Congressional District, but she's gained ground on most of her potential Republican opponents.

The open Second Congressional seat looks like a pickup opportunity for the GOP if former Rep. Charlie Bass (R) is the nominee. 2008 nominee Jennifer Horn runs ahead of both potential Democrats, but by a much narrower margin. As for the Democrats, attorney Ann McLane Kuster, making her first-ever run for office, appears to be a slightly stronger candidate than 2002 nominee Katrina Swett, whose husband Dick Swett once held this seat.

RCP classifies both New Hampshire Congressional races as Lean Republican.

The survey was conducted April 12-21. The Senate sample of 462 likely voters has a margin of error of +/- 4.6%. The NH-01 subsample of 258 adults has a margin of error of +/- 6.1%. The NH-02 subsample of 254 adults has a margin of error of +/-6.1%.
