Piecing Together Obama's Address
Posted by Tom Bevan | Email This | Permalink | Email Author
Here are a few of the things we've learned about what President Obama plans to say tonight:
1) Obama will admit mistakes.
2) Obama will speak directly to Republicans and urge them to "change course." According to the Washington Post, "the president's tone will not be markedly different than it has been in the past."
3) Obama will reaffirm a strong commitment to passing comprehensive health care reform. WH Comm Director Dan Pfieffer says the President "will make it clear that his commitment to addressing this challenge in a comprehensive way is as strong today as it was when he stood in the same spot in September to address the nation on health care.”
Put these pieces together and I'm not sure Obama isn't going to be offering more of the same, but perhaps in a slightly new package. We'll have an answer in a couple of hours.
