New Battleground national survey from Lake Partners and the Tarrance Group show President Obama's job approval rating at 53%. Overall, Obama's job approval in the RCP Average - which includes eight polls taken between July 15-July 28 - is 54.0%, and the spread between his approval and disapproval has dropped under 13 points.

Also of note from the Battleground poll:

Democrats lead by three points in the generic ballot, 43-40.

Congressional job approval is at 34%.

51% say the country is on the wrong track.
