CT Sen Poll: Dodd sub-50%

A new Research2000/DailyKos poll finds Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) in 2010 general election danger (March 23-25, 600 LV, MoE +/- 4%).

In a potential matchup against former Rep. Rob Simmons (R), Dodd leads by just 5 points and comes in under 50%. Other Republicans tested against Dodd were State Sen. Sam Caligiuri and CNBC host Larry Kudlow, who announced this week he would not be running.

Dodd 45 - Simmons 40 - Und 15

Dodd 51 - Caligiuri 30 - Und 19

Dodd 53 - Kudlow 31 - Und 16

2012 Senate Race
The survey also found Sen. Joe Lieberman (ID-Conn.) to be the most unpopular elected official in the state (among those polled, at least), with more (54%) having an unfavorable opinion of him than a favorable one (44%). Republican Gov. Jodi Rell has a 71% favorability rating, and -- three and a half years from the 2012 election -- leads Lieberman in potential three-way races.

Democrats tested against Lieberman and Rell were 2006 Senate nominee Ned Lamont and Atty. Gen. Dick Blumenthal.

Rell 42 - Lamont 30 - Lieberman 25

Rell 43 - Blumenthal 28 - Lieberman 25
