Even discounting for the fact that State of the Union rebuttals are notoriously difficult and put the speaker at an extreme disadvantage, I don't think it's a stretch to say that Bobby Jindal laid an egg last night.

He didn't look relaxed, powerful or commanding, and his delivery was so poor and sing-song like that it came across almost cartoonish.  If you watched Jindal's appearance on Meet the Press last Sunday, it's hard to believe it was the same person speaking last night.

That tells you not only how difficult those rebuttal speeches are, but also just how much of a skill public speaking is and how much Jindal needs to improve his skills if he has aspirations for higher office.
