Minnesota Senate Update

Day Three of the state Canvassing Board's review of challenged ballots brought the race as close as it's ever been, it appears. Here are some quick excerpts from the two Twin Cities newspapers covering the drawn out process closely:

The Minneapolis Star Tribune:

After finishing off Franken's 420 regular challenges Wednesday, the board started the day on Coleman's 800 or so challenges. The Coleman campaign withdrew 409 challenges late Wednesday, after earlier restoring 204 challenges they reconsidered once they saw how the board was judging the ballots.

At day's end, Coleman held a single-digit lead over Franken.

The St. Paul Pioneer-Press:

Democratic Senate candidate Al Franken is poised to take a lead in the race's recount today or tomorrow.

The lead likely will not last.
