Vice President-elect Biden has added a new post to the VP's Office: Chief Economist and Economic Policy Adviser to the Vice President. For that role, Biden named today Jared Bernstein, an economist at the Economic Policy Institute and a member of the CBO's advisory committee.

"Jared Bernstein is an acclaimed economist, and a proven, passionate advocate for raising the incomes of middle class families. His expertise and background in a wide range of domestic and international economic policies will be an invaluable asset to the Obama-Biden Administration,” said Biden, according to a press release.
