Georgia Senate Runoff

The polls closed at 7 p.m. in Georgia's runoff election, with Sen. Saxby Chambliss trying to hold on to his seat against Democratic challenger Jim Martin. Below are live updates as results come in on Georgia's official elections site:

9:15 p.m. The Associated Press reports that the race has been called.
9:10 p.m. The Hill is reporting that the race has been called for Chambliss
9:04 p.m. 72% of precincts reporting, Chambliss leads 61%-39% (1,464,489 votes). Just less than half of the precincts are reporting in DeKalb and 15% of precincts in Fulton -- both crucial counties for Martin.
8:36 p.m. 52% of precincts reporting, Chambliss leads 62%-38% (1,032,880 votes). The AJC's Political Insider blog is also live-blogging with good insights.
8:24 p.m. 30% of precincts reporting, Chambliss leads 62%-38% (572,957 votes cast)
8:12 p.m. 20% of precincts reporting, Chambliss leads 66%-34% (397,710 votes cast).
7:53 p.m. 227,204 votes cast, Chambliss leads 66%-34%.
7:41 p.m. With 108,262 votes cast, Chambliss leads 68%-32%. Gwinnett remains the only one of the four large Atlanta-area counties to report any results, with 18 of 163 precincts reporting.

-Total early-votes cast: 533,196
-Blacks: 116,272 (21.8%)
-Whites: 400,665 (75.1%)
*Blacks make up 29.9% of registered voters. Whites account for 62.7%.
7:29 p.m. With 37,717 votes in, Chambliss leads 68%-32%. Only 2 precincts have reported out of 883 in the four biggest counties -- Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett -- all of which are in the Atlanta metro area.
