The race for a Senate seat in Georgia will conclude tomorrow as voters head to the polls in the runoff between Sen. Saxby Chambliss and Jim Martin. Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will make four campaign stops with Chambliss today after headlining an Atlanta fundraiser last night, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
In a final campaign push before tomorrow's vote, Martin will also hold four rallies today around the state after making a round of stops yesterday. Martin hopes to get a turnout boost from hip hop star and actor Ludacris, an Atlanta native who will appear with Martin today.
Minnesota's Senate recount took a holiday break over the last four days, with Sen. Norm Coleman leading by 282 votes, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Some 14 percent of ballots are left to be recounted, and the Franken campaign believes more Democratic-majority precincts remain uncounted than ones with a Republican majority. Since the start of the recount, more than 5,600 ballots have been challenged.
