So reports yesterday that Rahm Emanuel accepted Obama's offer to be chief of staff were a little premature. Obama has offered, but as this video, which Mark Halperin posts, shows, at least publicly the Illinois rep. is still thinking about it.

As many have already noted, Obama's choice of Emanuel says something about how he might want to run his White House. Though a partisan, Emanuel is no lefty ideologue, and the speculation is that he would be able to stave off Congress' more liberal committee chairman, whose legislative agenda could be too extreme for Obama. There also is perhaps no one better to help guide Obama in his dealings with a Democratic Congress than Emanuel.
