CBS/NYT Poll: Obama +13

New CBS News/NY Times national poll of likely voters conducted October 19-22 shows Barack Obama with a 13-point lead over John McCain, which is basically unchanged from the week before.

Interestingly, the poll also shows that during same time period there was a 12-point swing toward McCain among Independents. Last week Obama led among self declared Independents by 18 points, 51 to 33. This week his lead is six points, 45 to 39. However, for some reason that movement did not have any impact on the poll's overall results:

Obama 52 (-1 vs. last poll Oct 10-13)
McCain 39 (nc)

Obama leads by 7.5% in the RCP National Average.

Favorable Ratings
Biden +23 (43/20)
Obama +21 (52/31)
McCain -7 (39/46)
Palin -9 (31/40)
