A Good Day To Be In Tampa

Barack Obama begins the second to last full week of the campaign today in Tampa, Fla., where residents are coming off an extraordinary night in the sports world. The NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their nationally-televised Sunday night home game against the Seattle Seahawks, putting them in a first-place tie for their division about half-way through the season.
Of course, no one actually watched that game, as the Tampa area -- and most of the country -- was watching the Major League Baseball playoff game being played across the bay in St. Petersburg. The Tampa Bay Rays pulled off the impossible, going from a last-place team a year ago to the World Series after defeating the Boston Red Sox in last night's decisive seventh game.
The Obama camp planned the rally -- being held across the street from the Buccaneers' stadium -- in Tampa to coincide with the beginning of Florida's early voting period. Later in the day, Obama is set to hold a joint rally with Hillary Clinton in Orlando, and tomorrow will speak at two rallies in South Florida.
Florida is currently a tight race, with Obama up by 3.2 points in the RCP Average, though Democrats are excited by the final voter registration numbers released in the state yesterday, showing a more-than 600,000 registration lead for Democrats.
