Where They're Headed

With three weekends left until the election, McCain and Obama are both keeping up their fervent travel pace in the battleground states. Two states seeing a lot more of both parties' nominees this year than in elections past are Virginia and North Carolina, where both candidates are visiting this weekend.
Obama is in Roanoke, Va., today, amid the mountainous, western counties that largely favored Hillary Clinton in the primary. After spending Saturday in Missouri, Obama will be headed back to the east coast Sunday for a rally in Fayetteville, N.C.
McCain and Palin were both in Virginia Monday, and the Arizona senator will be back in the state tomorrow for a rally in Woodbridge, located at the southern edge of Northern Virginia -- where about one-third of the state's votes are cast. Before heading there, McCain will appear at a rally in Concord, N.C., outside Charlotte. Yesterday, Palin attended two North Carolina rallies.
