Palin, Biden: 2nd-Most Watched Debate Ever

More people watched the vice presidential debate last night than almost any other debate ever, according to a report released by Nielsen. The media research company states that 69.9 million people watched the back-and-forth between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin, tying it for the second most-watched debate ever.

The 1980 Jimmy Carter-Ronald Reagan debate is still the most-watched debate ever. Tied with last night's debate is the second George H.W. Bush-Bill Clinton-Ross Perot debate of 1992.

The debate last night surpassed Friday's presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain by 17.5 million people, and viewing was up among African Americans, Hispanics and Whites.
