In the Headlines

"Obama and McCain Express Cautious Support for Bailout" (Michael D. Shear and Perry Bacon Jr., Washington Post) - Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama expressed cautious support for a $700 billion bailout of the nation's biggest financial institutions, though both reserved the right to change their minds after they have reviewed details of the hastily arranged deal.

"Congress agrees on bailout; House to vote" (S.A. Miller, Washington Times) - Congressional leaders agreed Sunday on a $700 billion Wall Street bailout plan and scheduled a House vote Monday for a package that addressed enough of the House Republicans' concerns to get their leaders' endorsement.

"Post debate, Obama's lead grows" (Alexander Burns, The Politico) - Two days after a presidential debate many commentators scored as a tie, it's beginning to look like the public saw things differently, as several polls show a small but significant post-debate boost for Barack Obama.

Sarah Palin's operation Sunday to prepare for what is certain to be the most important event of her vice-presidential campaign: her debate on Thursday with Democrat Joe Biden.
