Polls: Obama Up In MD, WA

A new Gonzales Research poll (Aug. 29-Sept. 5, 833 RV, MoE +/- 3.5%) shows Obama leading McCain by 14 points in Maryland, the same margin from its poll in February. There has not been much polling in Maryland, as Obama is expected to win the state.

In Washington state, a new SurveyUSA poll (Sept. 5-7, 658 LV, MoE +/- 3.9%) finds Obama's lead down to 4 points, a far lower margin than other recent polls suggest. Washington hasn't voted Republican since Ronald Reagan's re-election in 1984, and John Kerry carried the state by 7 points in 2004.
