The new Diageo/Hotline national poll shows Obama with a 4 point lead over McCain (August 18-24, 1022 RV, MoE +/- 3.0%). 70% feel Obama is at least somewhat "in touch" with the "average American," while 61% feel the same way about McCain. 74% feel McCain is prepared to lead the country, while 58% feel Obama is. Although the poll's outcome shows a tight race, 52% said Obama has a better chance of winning.
