Conversation With a Hillary Delegate

DENVER - I had an interesting conversation with a Hillary delegate from a Western caucus state last night in the Pepsi Center. The conversation went something like this:
Will you be voting for Hillary during the roll call vote?
Absolutely. Most Hillary delegates will, but only because it is the culmination of the process that they've been invested in since the beginning.
Is the tension between the Hillary and Obama supporters being overblown by the media then?
Not one bit. It's very real.
So are any of the Hillary delegates you know planning on voting for McCain in November?
If they are, they won't say it because they'll be run right out of town.
As a delegate from a caucus state, do you have a beef with the process and the way the Obama campaign leveraged the caucus system to its advantage?
No, though it is worrying. Obama's young supporters came out in force and took control of the caucuses, but some have since disappeared and don't seem as engaged now as they were a few months ago.
Right as we were finishing our conversation, a man in his sixties walked up wearing a straw hat festooned with Hillary pins and a sticker that read "Standing Strong for Hillary in West Virginia." The woman I was speaking with, who was sporting her own version of a Hillary hat, complimented him on his outfit. "It's my wife's hat," the man responded, "I'm just wearing it because she was worried it might fall off."
