Polls Show Tight Races In OR, WI

New polls in Oregon and Wisconsin show a close race between Obama and McCain, while two new polls in New York show the Illinois senator with a large lead.
In Oregon, the SurveyUSA poll (August 2-4, 629 LV) shows Obama leading by 3 points -- the same margin he held in the previous poll taken in mid-June, two weeks after he secured the nomination. John Kerry won Oregon in 2004 by 4 points, and in 2000 Al Gore won it by less than 7,000 votes.

Obama holds a 6.7-point lead in the RCP Average for Oregon
In Wisconsin, a new WPR poll (August 3-4, 600 LV) shows just a 6-point margin for Obama (his smallest in any poll in the state in over a month), with a large number of undecided voters. This state was decided by just 11,000 votes in 2004 and 5,000 votes in 2000, with Kerry and Gore both winning.

In New York, which last voted Republican in 1984 and 1980, Obama holds 21- and 19-point leads in two new polls by Quinnipiac and Rasmussen.
