Obama Camp Questions McCain's Budget

After some less-than-flattering news articles and editorials today regarding McCain's proposed budget balancing, the Obama campaign jumped in as well.

On a conference call with reporters, House Budget Committee Chairman John Spratt (D-SC) said that if McCain followed his own propsoal, "There's no way we're even on the path to a balanced budget, instead we're on the path to an even worse budget deficit than we have today. And one can only wonder what will happen to the dollar if we seriously set out upon that path."

On one of Obama's plans for the economy, Obama economic policy director Jason Furman said the Illinois senator "thinks in the short run we need to get our economy going again with a $50 billion stimulus and would love John McCain to join him this year in pushing for that stimulus."
