Actually, it's more of a semi-profile, focusing on what the Louisiana Democratic legislature is up these days now that Jindal's at the helm of state. Reporter Adam Nossiter gives most of his attention to education, specifically, school vouchers and a bill which alters the teaching of evolution in the classroom. On the former, Jindal is very much a proponent. On the latter, not so much.
But that doesn't stop Nossiter from spending a healthy portion of the article tying Jindal to the bill's supporters and other religious right groups. In fact the best quote Nossiter could find that he sees as exposing Jindal's sympathies for the bill's supporters is this:
In his election campaign, Mr. Jindal said that "there's no scientific theory that explains how you create organic life out of inorganic matter," and that students should "decide for themselves."
Could the Inquisition be far off in Lousiana? Just a preview of what the media has in store for Jindal down the road.
