The Morning Roundup

Fox News' "Fox and Friends"

Sen. Barack Obama, on his "less is more" strategy of smaller venues: "What was happening was that we were attracting such wonderful crowds and that obviously makes you feel good. But I wasn't getting enough time just listening to people and finding out what was going on in their lives ... and I've always been best hearing stories about what families are going through and weave those into the campaigning I'm doing. If I'm doing my job, I'm speaking for and advocating for the families I meet."

On USA Today/Gallup poll and Rev. Wright: "I don't spend a lot of time worrying about polls, and then what I've said to the American people is that Rev. Wright doesn't speak for me. ... The real debate that's happening in Indiana ... is gas prices. It's not honest to say that we're going to suspend the gas tax."

On Iran: "I never disagreed with the idea that if Iran attacked Israel that we would consider that an attack on us. I was absolutely clear about that and we would act forcefully. What I did say is that Sen. Clinton during the summer gave folks lectures about how you shouldn't engage in hypotheticals and that we should be careful about what we say when we're presidential candidates. This was a long discussion on her part about not talking about how we should use our nuclear arsenal. And then a few days before an election she comes out and says we would 'obliterate' Iran...I think it's an example of her not following her advice depending what she thinks might be helpful before an election."

On going on "The O'Reilly Factor" as Clinton did last week: "We're looking forward to it. We're gonig to see if we can fit it in."

Sen. Hillary Clinton, on "gas tax" debate: "[Obama] does not want to do anything about it. Sen. Obama wants you to pay the gas tax this summer, I want the oil companies to pay it out of their record profits."

On the so-called "nuclear option" of seating FL and MI delegates: "I've been saying from the very beginning that we should seat Florida and Michigan."

NBC's "The Today Show"

Sen. Hillary Clinton, on what she thinks the consequences will be if she wins in Indiana and loses in North Carolina tomorrow: "Everyone predicted that he would handily win both... we've made up some ground."

On what argument she will make to superdelegates when she is certain to lose the pledge delegate race: "Right now I have more popular vote... let's wait and see what happens in these upcoming contests."

Clinton also pushed hard on her support for a gas tax holiday: "I really believe this difference of opinion over this gas tax is critical...we've got to take on the oil companies, they've been given so many tax breaks, we've got to stand up for main street...I'm trying to give people immediate relief."

ABC's "Good Morning America"

Obama, on the Wall Street Journal article today which said he won the endorsement of the Teamsters union by promising to end strict federal oversight to deal with corruption: "I wouldn't make any blanket commitments...I would examine what is going on in terms of the federal oversight that's been taking place...the union has done a terrific job of cleaning house...the question is whether they're going to be able to get treated just like every other union."
