Taibbi's Upward Fall

It's been a fairly remarkable upward fall for Matt Taibbi, whose made somewhat of a career out of demonizing Christians. First there was this story in the New York Press in December 2003 declaring war on Christianity and calling Billy and Franklin Graham "fifth-rate shysters" who have "spent decades engaged on a relentless quest to turn the United States into the world's revenge on smart people" (see my response at the bottom of this page).
A year and a half later Taibbi got canned from his job at the Press after penning, "The 52 Funniest Things About the Upcoming Death of the Pope" which included such knee-slappers as "#49. After beating for the last time, Pope's heart sits there like a piece of hamburger."
Taibbi subsequently went to work for Rolling Stone, where he graces this week's issue with another classic sure to have the secular left in stitches: "Jesus Made Me Puke." The piece chronicles Taibbi's "undercover" experience on a weekend retreat sponsored by the Cornerstone Church, the San Antonio-based megachurch headed by Pastor John Hagee.
It turns out the Rolling Stone feature is merely an excerpt from Taibbi's more substantial anti-Christian opus, "The Great Derangement," due in a bookstore near you soon.
I see from his Wikipedia entry that Taibbi may no longer be employed by Rolling Stone:
The column seems to have been discontinued, after Taibbi failed to respond to a reader Q & A session. A later online column titled "Year of the Rat" was meant to document the 2008 election season, but it too seems to have been abandoned, as Taibbi only filed two entries for the blog upon its creation, and has filed none since.
Not to worry, though. Taibbi has found a home with another enlightened liberal who loves to hate Christians:
Taibbi currently serves as a special correspondent for Real Time with Bill Maher offering political coverage of the 2008 presidential campaign.
