CT Poll: A McCain/Lieberman Ticket

A Research 2000/Daily Kos poll shows that 43% of Republicans in Connecticut would be more likely to vote for John McCain if he chose Sen. Joe Lieberman as his running mate, while 45% said it would have no real impact on their decision. Only 12% said they would be less likely to vote for McCain.

Half of the ever-important independent voters -- who, along with Republicans, helped Lieberman win re-election in 2006 after losing to Ned Lamont in the Democratic primary -- said Lieberman's placement on the ticket would not affect their vote. Only 16% said they would be more likely to vote for McCain, while 32% said they would be less likely to vote for him if Lieberman was his running mate.
