Poll: Gender Causes More Obstacles In Running For Prez

An interesting new nationwide poll from CBS News shows that Americans think racism is a bigger problem than sexism in the U.S., yet that gender causes more obstacles in presidential politics than race.
By 39%-33%, respondents said a woman candidate faces more obstacles in running for president than a black candidate. Forty-two percent said Hillary Clinton has been judged more harshly by people they know because of her gender, while about a quarter said people they know judged Obama more harshly because of his race.
However, by a 4-to-1 margin (42%-10%), Americans feel racism is the more serious problem in the U.S. today.
On voting by race, a third of the white respondents said most people they know would not vote for someone who is black, while a quarter of the black respondents said most people they know wouldn't either. Also, 62% of whites feel America is ready for a black president, while only half of blacks feel the same way.
On gender, about 60% of both men and women surveyed said the U.S. is ready for a female president.
