Obama Cong. Supporters Respond To Ads

In a conference call with reporters today, Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) and Rep. Chet Edwards (D-TX), responded to Clinton's latest TV ads, including the "3 a.m. phone call" ad and the latest ad titled, "True," which clips Obama's statement from a recent debate in which he admitted to not holding any Senate oversight hearings on Afghanistan.
"These latest ads are some Karl Rove would be proud of," Edwards said. "There is no shortage of hearings in Washington, D.C., on Iraq and Afghanistan. What there has been is a shortage of good judgment."
Kerry called the "3 a.m. phone call" ad a "silly issue," and said Obama would go to the White House with "more experience in foreign policy than George Bush had, than Ronald Reagan had, and even Bill Clinton."
"These last couple of ads are really the kind of ads you'd expect the Republicans to be running, not a Democrat," Kerry said. "They're calculated to divert attention...and scare people. It does a disservice to the dialogue that people of Texas, Ohio and other places to deserve to have."
