National Poll: Big Moves On Both Sides

A new national poll by USA Today/Gallup shows a ton of movement since mid-December. Huckabee has taken over the lead among the GOP, leading Giuliani by 5 points. Obama, meanwhile, has pulled dead-even with Clinton, after trailing her by 18 points a few weeks ago. And Romney has hit single digits.

Republicans (Jan. 4-6, 423 GOP or GOP leaning, MoE +/- 5%)

Huckabee 25 (+9 vs. last poll, Dec. 14-16)
Giuliani 20 (-7)
McCain 19 (+5)
Thompson 12 (-2)
Romney 9 (-5)
Paul 4 (+1)

Huckabee now holds a 0.7-point lead in the RCP National Average

Democrats (Jan. 4-6, 499 Dem or Dem leaning, MoE +/- 5%)

Clinton 33 (-12 vs. last poll, Dec. 14-16)
Obama 33 (+6)
Edwards 20 (+5)

Clinton now holds an 8.0-point lead in the RCP National Average
