New Hampshire Poll: McCain +6, Obama +1

ST. ANSELM COLLEGE, NH - Research 2000 is out with a new poll of the race in New Hampshire for the Concord Monitor (Jan 4-5, 400 Dem LV, 400 GOP LV; MoE +/-5.0%). On the Democratic side, Barack Obama is in a neck and neck race with Hillary Clinton, and while Edwards is still ten points back he appears to have picked up the most support in the last month:

Democrats
Obama 34 (+2 vs. last poll Dec 10-12)
Clinton 33 (+2)
Edwards 23 (+5)
Richardson 4 (-4)

Overall Obama leads by 2.4% in the latest RCP Average for New Hampshire.

On the Republican side, McCain has surged into the lead over Mitt Romney, Huckabee gained slightly but remains well behind, and Giuliani has fallen way off the pace:

Republicans
McCain 35 (+18 vs last poll Dec 10-12)
Romney 29 (-2)
Huckabee 13 (+4)
Giuliani 8 (-10)
Paul 7 (nc)

McCain is up 4.6% in the RCP Average for New Hampshire.
