Despite the Politico's story today that Fred Thompson was on the verge of dropping out if he doesn't perform well tonight, there was a bit of a buzz for the campaign yesterday after Zogby released his tracking poll showing a slight uptick in Fred's numbers.

Said Zogby: "Thompson seems to be benefiting from conservatives looking for a candidate."

Well, today's Zogby tracking has Fred down a point from yesterday and nearly tied with Ron Paul and John McCain. Which basically means that if there is a surge for Fred, he's sharing it with two other candidates.
