As Tom noted below, a new Bloomberg/LA Times poll has Hillary Clinton strengthening her lead. (Peter Wallsten and Janet Hook, Los Angeles Times)

"A rare glint of steel." Fred Thompson is getting pugnacious. (Nicholas Wapshott, New York Sun; Stephen Dinan, Washington Times) Also, Thompson's perceived reluctance to campaign in New Hampshire just cost him an aide. (Sam Youngman, The Hill)

"Absolutely." Hillary Clinton said she would give up some executive powers -- that Bush-Cheney apparently snatched -- were she to become president. (Jim Rutenberg, New York Times)

Carlyn Williams is a big supporter of Barack Obama and gave $2,300 to his campaign. Too bad she's two. (Matthew Mosk, Washington Post)

"Just an ideology." Rudy Giuliani says its not about conservatism, but whether voters can be "American voters." (Sara Kugler, Associated Press)

Rudy very well could have just said, "Scoreboard!" (Heidi Przybyla and Edwin Chen, Bloomberg)

"Oh, he's so romantic," says Hillary of husband Bill. Nope, couldn't finish reading that either. (New York Daily News)

Tom Tancredo called for ICE to break up a Sen. Dick Durbin news conference. (Julia Preston, New York Times)

Why aren't we surprised? Dennis Kucinich apparently once saw a UFO, according to a new book. (Mark Naymik, Cleveland.com)

A gospel singer who supports Obama and is scheduled to appear at a campaign event this weekend tried to kill the notion that he's "anti-gay." (Kelley Carter, Chicago Tribune)

Meanwhile, Mass. Gov. Deval Patrick is backing Obama. (Scott Helman, Boston Globe)

Right on. Visiting a gun factory in New Hampshire, John McCain said, "bring Osama bin Laden to the gates of hell and shoot him with one of your products." (Margot Sanger-Katz, Concord Monitor)

Bill Richardson was in Nevada, talking to plumbers and promoting firearms. (Molly Ball, Las Vegas Review Journal; Boston Globe)
