New Hampshire Poll

Marist is out with a new poll in New Hampshire (October 4-9, 661 Dem LV, MoE +/_4%, and 557 GOP LV, MoE +/-4.5%). Among Democrats and Democratic-leaning Independents considered likely to vote, Hillary Clinton has a 22 -point lead:

Obama 21
Edwards 12
Richardson 8
Undecided 8

Clinton leads across all demographic subgroups surveyed. She also leads Obama on the most pressing issues for New Hampshire voters, including the war in Iraq where she holds a 33-22% advantage. Her support is just as committed as Obama's (59% to 58%), and she's seen as by far the most "electable" candidate on the Democratic side (58% to 18%).

Overall, Clinton leads by 20.4% in the RCP Average for New Hampshire.

Among Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents considered likely to vote in the primary, Mitt Romney has a 6-point lead:

Romney leads among Republicans and self-identified conservatives, but trails Giuliani among Independents and self-identified moderates. Among the top three surveyed, McCain's support is the most committed (58% say they "strongly" support him), compared to 48% for Giuliani and just 37% for Romney. Romney leads the others on many of the issue questions, but when Republicans were asked who was the most electable, Giuliani came out well ahead of Romney (40% to 29%).

Overall, Romney still leads by 4.2% in the RCP Avg for New Hampshire.
