Dodd Moves Campaign (And Daughter?) to Iowa - Updated

After raising just $1.5 million in the Third Quarter, Sen. Chris Dodd's presidential campaign has fired three financial consultants and will be focusing its operations largely in Iowa, a spokesman confirmed to RCP today, going as far as to consider enrolling Dodd's daughter in kindergarten there. A spokesman says that no final decision has been made, but that enrolling her in an Iowa school is not off the table. The family is considering options that will allow them to spend as much time together as they can.

Moving operations largely to Iowa comes just weeks after Sen. Joe Biden, himself underfunded and needing an early state win, did the same.

"Like every campaign, we're going to be focusing our resources in Iowa, where we think our message of results is really resonating," said spokesman Hari Sevugan.

The three fired consultants are Stephanie Berger, Rachel Hirschberg and Tracy Austin. Privately, sources close to and inside the Dodd campaign said a fourth consultant will be fired, and that the campaign will make decisions about staff firings next week.

Dodd does not appear on RCP's Average for Iowa, where Hillary Clinton has a 3.5-point lead over Barack Obama, but recent polls have put his support at 1%.

UPDATE: Sources say the consultants were let go, as opposed to fired, meaning their contracts weren't continued through the fourth quarter.
