Obama & 'Bama

Obama has claimed that he alone among the Democrats can "redraw the political map," specifically citing his ability to put Southern states like Mississippi into play by increasing African-American turnout:
"If we just got African-Americans in Mississippi to vote their percentage of the population, Mississippi is suddenly a Democratic state," Obama said. He said Georgia would also turn Democratic and South Carolina would be in play.
Presumably, Alabama falls into the same category, but a newly released poll by SurveyUSA shows Obama not making much of a dent against any Republican in the Heart of Dixie, though he does run ten points better against Romney than he does against Rudy and Fred:
Giuliani 59
Obama 32
Thompson 60
Obama 34
Romney 53
Obama 36
Bush beat Kerry in Alabama by 25 points in 2004 (62 to 37), and he carried the state by 14 points over Al Gore in 2000 (56 to 42).
