Clark Out, Backs Clinton

In a conference call this morning, former NATO Supreme Commander and 2004 Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark ended any remaining speculation that he would be a late entry into the 2008 field by throwing his support to Senator Hillary Clinton.
During President Clinton's administration, Clark commanded the NATO mission in Kosovo, and the Arkansas native and fellow Rhodes Scholar has been close to the Clintons for years. In 2004, Clark's campaign staff was largely made up of former Clinton aides.
UPDATE: The backing comes a day after Clinton lost a top Iowa aide, per The Fix, who reports Angelique Pirozzi is out as the campaign's Iowa field director.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: Clinton's campaign adds another Congressional endorsement, rolling out Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow on the same day as Clark. Stabenow beat out former Energy Secretary Spence Abraham for his seat in 2000 and easily knocked off Mike Bouchard, the Oakland County sheriff, by a 57%-41% margin.
