A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll out today, which surveyed 1002 adults between 9/7 and 9/10, shows a tightening GOP race, thanks to a boost for newly announced Sen. Fred Thompson, and a big lead for Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.
Democrats
Clinton 44 (+1 from last poll, 7/27-7/30)
Obama 23 (+1)
Edwards 16 (+3)
Richardson 4 (-2)
Clinton leads by 19.6% in the updated RCP National Average.
Republicans
Giuliani 32 (-1)
Thompson 26 (+6)
McCain 14 (-3)
Romney 11 (nc)
Huckabee 4 (+3)
Giuliani's lead in the RCP National Average is now 4.8%
