In a long-classified report released today, the CIA's inspector general faults former CIA head George Tenet for not dealing with al Qaeda before 9/11, although an executive summary of the report states that it could not find a "single point of failure nor a silver bullet" that would have prevented the attacks.

The space shuttle Endeavour landed safely today.

On another erratic day for Wall Street, Senate Banking Committee Chairman (and presidential candidate) Chris Dodd met with Fed chief Ben Bernanke.

Barack Obama reiterated his belief that there is no military solution to Iraq's problems.

Meanwhile, at the same VFW convention, Fred Thompson said that the American forces are stretched too thin and that that requires a larger military.

On hit Web site, Thompson also hit Rudy Giuliani over the Second Amendment.

A federal appellate court this morning upheld former Illinois Gov. George Ryan's racketeering and fraud conviction. Ryan's lawyers said they will seek a second appeal.
