UPDATED: Another Obama Foreign-Policy Flap

While in New Hampshire yesterday, Barack Obama said this about U.S. problems in Afghanistan:
"Now you have narco drug lords who are helping to finance the Taliban, so we've got to get the job done there, and that requires us to have enough troops that we are not just air raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there."
And of course there's a YouTube of it:
Obama's comments can be interpreted a few ways. The bigger problem for Obama comes from this part of the Nashua Telegraph story:
"Campaign spokesman Reid Cherlin said Obama was not endorsing the current Bush policy, which consists solely of air raids and bombing of civilians."
So the question is: Did Cherlin really say that, and if he did, does Obama really believe that Bush's strategy in Afghanistan "consists solely of air raids and bombing of civilians"?
UPDATE: The Nashua Telegraph story now says simply: "Campaign spokesman Reid Cherlin said Obama was not endorsing the current Bush policy in Afghanistan."
