New CBS News poll out last night, Republicans only. Here's the horse race among Republican primary voters (RPVs):

Giuliani 38 (+5 vs last poll in July)
Thompson 18 (-7)
Romney 13 (+5)
McCain 12 (-3)
Someone Else 1 (-10)

Digging deeper there is even more good news for Giuliani. He leads across all cross sections of RPV's surveyed by CBS. Most notably, however, Giuliani leads Fred Thompson by 19 points in the South and by 7 points among those who identified themselves as "evangelical Christians."

Also, 46% of RPV's in the new poll say they are "satisfied" with their choice of candidates for president, a ten-point increase versus last month.
