Barack Obama has been relentless in touting the number of small donors he's corralled in the first 6 months of the year, but as Mike Dorning and John McCormick of the Chicago Tribune report today, his fundraising operation is still quite traditional and based on the support of a number of big fish - including hedge fund honcho Kenneth Griffin, one of Mayor Daley's top "financial patrons."
