New General Election Match-Ups

Gallup released new general election polls today, where Rudy Giuliani continues to give Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton a competitive race. Fred Thompson was surveyed for the first time in the general election, against Obama and Clinton.

Giuliani 49 - Clinton 46 (vs. 49 - 47 in 6/11 - 6/14 poll)
Giuliani 49 - Obama 45 (vs. 45 - 50 in 6/11 - 6/14 poll)

Clinton 48 - Thompson 45
Obama 51 - Thompson 40

Gallup also reports that Thompson does less well with women voters than Giuliani. Women are evenly divided in a Giuliani-Obama race (48% v. 47%), but "show a strong preference for Obama in the Thompson-Obama race (54% v. 36%). Men are also more likely to vote for Obama with Thompson rather than Giuliani as the Republican, however their preference swing is not quite as large."
