Here are the results of a new FOX News/Opinion Dynamics poll in South Carolina, Republicans only:
Giuliani 26
McCain 25
Romney 14
Undecided 16
Despite not being on the list of candidates offered to respondents, Newt Gingrich still got 5% support, Fred Thompson 2%, and Chuck Hagel less than 1%.
According to the poll, thirty-six percent of Romney voters said they supported him because of his "position on the issues," while the same number said they supported Giuliani because he was "a strong and decisive leader."
To give a sense of just how early and fluid the race remains, 61% of those who support Rudy said they might still change their mind, 62% said the same for McCain and nearly three out of four who are currently supporting Romney (73%) said they may change their mind.
