Poll: Obama Within Five, Edwards Beats Giuliani

New Rasmussen poll out today on the Democratic field showing Sen. Barack Obama has pulled to withing five points of Sen. Hillary Clinton:

Clinton 34
Obama 29
Edwards 15
Richardson 4

Interestingly, though he trails Clinton and Obama by double-digits, the Rasmussen poll shows John Edwards leading the Republican candidates by wider margins than Clinton and Obama. Edwards leads Giuliani 49 percent to 43 percent, while Obama and Clinton are essentially tied with Giuliani. Against Fred Thompson, who has not announced, Edwards leads 50 percent to 36 percent. Since his wife's announcement of having cancer, Edwards has seen his favorability ratings jump from 47 percent to 57 percent and his unfavorability rating drop from 45 percent to 35 percent.

In the RCP Average, Clinton leads Obama by 12.3 points (34.9 to 22.6) and Edwards by 19.8 (34.9 to 15.1).
