Incidentally, regarding one of the rationales provided in the US attorney firings: are we really to believe that the Bush administration was upset over the lack of prosecutions of illegal immigration cases, given we now know that up until late 2005 it was Justice Department policy not to pursue criminal charges against those entering the country illegally until their sixth offense?
